Shoe Icons - Moscow
A pair of shoes named ‘Russia’ designed and handmade by Caroline Groves has become the latest addition to ‘Shoe Icons’; a virtual shoe museum and extensive private collection of footwear held in Moscow.

A high red glacé crocodile T-bar based on a classic 1930’s style with a contemporary treatment of a high platform. Edged with purple grosgrain and lined with gold. A vintage deco glass buckle ornament adorns the T-bar and a solid silver fillet sits above the leather top piece (heel base). Fitted with beechwood hinged trees carved to compliment the shape of the original 1930’s last that the shoes were made on.

The Shoe Icons collection contains more than 1500 pairs of shoes from the 17th century up until the present day including pairs by Salvatore Ferragamo, Roger Vivier and Francois Pinets.
